Tailgate For the Cure

We are an all-volunteer grassroots 501c3 charity founded by Pitt Alumni.

The Tailgate for the Cure started at a home Pitt football game and our

signature event continues to occur each fall during Pitt’s football season.

We recognize that cancer is horrible, but we want to flip the situation,

using cancer to magnify the wonderful aspects of life: friendship, family, and fun.

Cancer can't zap the joy and happiness we bring to each other.

Tailgate for the Cure is a celebration of life.

We encourage others to host their own fundraising tailgate events, large or small,

to raise money in their own way, honoring friends and family members as they see fit.

Eventually, our aim is to expand beyond Pittsburgh and football to become a

nationally recognized charity at a larger level – fighting cancer one tailgate at a time.
